Note
This order is administered in the Ministry of Justice.
Pursuant to section 209 of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice of the Minister of Justice and on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
-
(1) This order is the Waitakere Licensing Trust Constitution Amendment Order 2001.
(2) In this order, the Waitakere Licensing Trust Constitution Notice 19721 is called
“the principal notice”
.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Wards
For the purpose of the election of members of the Waitakere Licensing Trust, the district of that trust is divided into the 4 wards numbered and described in the Schedule to this order.
4 Members of Trust
The Waitakere Licensing Trust is to continue to consist of 7 members of whom—
(a) 2 members are to be elected for Ward 1:
(b) 3 members are to be elected for Ward 2:
(c) 1 member is to be elected for each of Wards 3 and 4.
5 Amendments to principal notice
The principal notice is amended by revoking clauses 3, 5, 6, and 7 and Schedule 2.
6 Saving
Despite anything in the foregoing provisions of this order, the members of the Waitakere Licensing Trust holding office on the date of the commencement of this order, unless they sooner vacate office pursuant to any other enactment, continue to hold office until their successors are elected at the first general election of all the members of the trust held after the commencement of this order.

Ward 2 (3 members)
The whole of the area delineated on SO Plan No 70570, deposited with the Chief Surveyor of the North Auckland Land District.
Ward 3 (1 member)
The whole of the area delineated on SO Plan No 70571, deposited with the Chief Surveyor of the North Auckland Land District.
Ward 4 (1 member)
The whole of the area delineated on SO Plan No 70572, deposited with the Chief Surveyor of the North Auckland Land District.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order redivides the district of the Waitakere Licensing Trust into 4 new wards and specifies the number of members to be elected for each ward.
Members for the new wards are to be elected at the next general election of all the members of the trust. That general election is to be held on a date (intended to be 13 October 2001) to be appointed by the Minister of Justice by notice in the Gazette. In the meantime, the existing members of the trust will retain office.
