These regulations are made under section 325 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister for ACC made after complying with section 325(2) of that Act.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Accident Compensation (Ancillary Services) Amendment Regulations 2025.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 27 November 2025.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Accident Compensation (Ancillary Services) Regulations 2002.
4 Regulation 8 amended (Non-emergency transport by private motor vehicle)
In regulation 8(1), replace “29 cents”
with “34 cents”
.
5 Regulation 11 amended (Non-emergency other transport)
In regulation 11(2), replace “29 cents”
with “34 cents”
.
6 Regulation 14 amended (Accommodation costs)
(1)
Replace regulation 14(1) with:
(1)
The Corporation is liable to pay for one of the following costs of accommodation at a place other than the premises where the rehabilitation is given if the circumstances described in subclause (2) exist:
(a)
$140 per night, if the accommodation is in commercial premises:
(b)
$35 per night, if the accommodation is in the home of a family member or friend.
(2)
Replace regulation 14(3) with:
(3)
The Corporation is liable to pay only the amount per night specified in subclause (1)(a) or (b), no matter how many people require accommodation.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 27 November 2025, amend the Accident Compensation (Ancillary Services) Regulations 2002.
These regulations increase the travel reimbursement rate from 29 cents to 34 cents per kilometre for non-emergency transport by private motor vehicle and other non-emergency transport.
These regulations also—
increase the amount that the Accident Compensation Corporation is liable to pay for accommodation costs at commercial premises other than the premises where the rehabilitation is given from $57.55 to $140 per night; and
introduce, as an alternative option, a new $35 per night payment for accommodation at the home of a family member or friend.
