1 Title

This notice is the Community Work Centre (Church Street (Palmerston North)) Notice 2002.

2 Commencement

This notice takes effect from 3 October 2002.

3 Church Street (Palmerston North) Community Work Centre

The land described in the Schedule is a community work centre to be known as the Church Street (Palmerston North) Community Work Centre.

4 Revocation

The Periodic Detention Centre (David Street (Palmerston North)) Notice 1998 (SR 1998/396) is revoked.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District containing 1719 square metres, more or less, situate in the City of Palmerston North, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 88946, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title No. WN 56C/202, Wellington Registry.

Explanatory note

This notice, which takes effect from 3 October 2002, is made under section 126 the Criminal Justice Act 1985. It declares the land described in the Schedule to be a community work centre to be known as the Church Street (Palmerston North) Community Work Centre.

The Periodic Detention Centre known as the David Street (Palmerston North) Periodic Detention Centre will close when the Church Street (Palmerston North) Community Work Centre becomes operational. The periodic detention centre notice that constituted the David Street (Palmerston North) Periodic Detention Centre is revoked by this notice.
