Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2003

  • Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2003: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(c) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

These regulations are administered in the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on 31 March 2003.

3 Person and vessel limits on number of rock lobster pots in Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, and Wellington waters

  • (1) Regulation 3C(1) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the words “area described in subclause (4)”, and substituting the words “Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, and Wellington areas”.

    (2) Regulation 3C of the principal regulations is amended by revoking subclauses (4) and (5), and substituting the following subclause:

    • “(4) In this regulation, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, and Wellington areas means Quota Management Area CRA3 — Gisborne and Quota Management Area CRA4 — Wellington/Hawkes Bay as defined in Part III of the First Schedule of the Fisheries Act 1996.”

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 31 March 2003, amend the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986. The amendments omit from regulation 3C the definition of the area that the regulation applies to, and substitute a definition that refers to a quota management area in the Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996.
