This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 30 September 2005, amends the Fisheries (Interim and Annual Deemed Values) Notice 2003 by—

• substituting a new clause 6(a) to update the lists of stocks (including pale ghost shark stocks and individual stocks ELE 3 and ELE 5) that fall outside the provisions of existing clause 6(b) (clause 3):

• inserting a new clause 7A, which specifies that, for the purposes of the fishing year commencing on 1 October 2005 and all subsequent fishing years commencing on 1 October, the interim and annual deemed values specified in Schedule 1 of the principal notice, and the Chatham Islands deemed values specified in Schedule 2 of the principal notice are exclusive of goods and services tax. However, new clause 7A does not apply to any fishing years that commence on 1 February or 1 April (clause 4):

• decreasing the existing interim or annual deemed values for fishstocks BYX 1, ELE 3, ELE 5, HPB 3, JMA 3, RSK 1, RSK 3, STA 8, TAR 4, and the Chatham Islands deemed values for fishstocks SPE 4 and TAR 4, and increasing the existing annual deemed value for fishstock SNA 8 (clauses 5 and 6 and Schedules 1 and 2).
