This order is the Terrorism Suppression Amendment Act 2003 Commencement Order (No 2) 2003.

This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

In this order,—

(1) The following provisions come into force on 18 January 2004:

• (a) sections 4, 6, 7, 10 to 13, 15, 17 and 18 of the amendment Act:

• (b) sections 3, 5, and 16 of the amendment Act:

• (c) sections 3(b)(iv), 13A, 13C, and 13D, and Schedule 2A of the principal Act.

(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (b) of subclause (1) come into force on 18 January 2004 to the extent only that they insert into the principal Act the provisions referred to in paragraph (c) of that subclause.

(3) Subclause (2) overrides subclause (1)(b).

The following provisions come into force on 17 February 2004:

• (a) to the extent that they are not already fully in force immediately before the close of 16 February 2004, the provisions of the amendment Act referred to in clause 4(1)(b):

• (b) all provisions of the amendment Act that—

  • (i) are not referred to in clause 4(1)(b); and

  • (ii) are not already in force immediately before the close of 16 February 2004:

• (c) sections 3(b)(v) and 13B and Schedule 2B of the principal Act.
