Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force 28 days after its notification in the Gazette, revokes 5 sets of regulations. The regulations imposed sanctions, for the purpose of giving effect to resolutions of the Security Council of the United Nations, on—

• •Eritrea and Ethiopia:

• •Serbia and Montenegro:

• •Libya:

• •Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

• •Yugoslavia.

The Security Council has terminated the sanctions imposed on Serbia and Montenegro, Libya, the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Yugoslavia, and has decided not to extend the sanctions imposed on Eritrea and Ethiopia. The regulations imposing sanctions can therefore be revoked.
