Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2003

  • Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2003: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(b) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

  • (1) These regulations are the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2003.

    (2) In these regulations, the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 19861 are called “the principal regulations”.

2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Offences and penalties

  • Regulation 11(1) and (2) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression “6C(1)(iv)”, and substituting in each case the expression “6C(1)(iii) or (iv)”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986. The effect of the amendments is to increase to $20,000 the penalty for an offence against regulation 6C(1)(iii) which prohibits set netting from Maunganui Bluff to Tirua Point.
