Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act Commencement Order 2003: revoked, on 30 August 2016, pursuant to section 3 of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act Repeal Act 2016 (2016 No 2 (P)).

Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act 2002, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order is the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act Commencement Order 2003.
2 Commencement of provisions of Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act 2002
Parts 3 to 5 (except section 27(2)) and Schedules 1 and 2 of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act 2002 come into force on 30 April 2003.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Act 2002 (the Act) is a private Act to—
clarify the status of the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (the Foundation) as a body that is controlled primarily by, and operates for the benefit of, people who are blind and vision impaired:
modernise the Foundation’s structure, giving it characteristics of an incorporated society:
provide for the possible future registration of the Foundation as a society incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908.
Sections 1 and 2 and Parts 1 and 2 of the Act came into force on 12 December 2002 (being the day after the date on which the Act received the Royal assent).
Under sections 5 and 6 of the Act, rules for the operation of the Foundation have been adopted by special resolution and lodged with the Registrar of Incorporated Societies.
This order brings into force, on 30 April 2003,—
Part 3 (which relates to the constitution of the Foundation, its objects, and the application of the Incorporated Societies Act 1908); and
Part 4 (which relates to the possible conversion of the Foundation into an incorporated society); and
Part 5 (which contains miscellaneous provisions); and
Schedules 1 and 2 (which contain consequential amendments).
Section 27(2) (which relates to the repeal of Parts 2 and 3) will come into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council following the possible conversion of the Foundation into an incorporated society.
