Pursuant to section 707ZZZS(1)(f) of the Local Government Act 1974, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Local Government (Watercare Services Limited) Order 2004.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 1 July 2004.
3 Water services
The close of 30 June 2007 is specified as the date until which Watercare Services Limited is entitled, under clause 707ZZZS(1)(f) of the Local Government Act 1974, to—
(a) apply the provisions of the Auckland Regional Council Trade Waste Bylaw 1991; and
(b) exercise the powers under the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1960 that relate directly to the water services assets as if it were and always had been the Auckland Regional Council.
4 Revocation
The Local Government (Watercare Services Limited) Order 2001 (SR 2001/99) is revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order comes into force on 1 July 2004. It entitles Watercare Services Limited, until 30 June 2007, to apply the provisions of the Auckland Regional Council Trade Waste Bylaw 1991, and to exercise the powers under the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1960 that relate directly to the water services assets as if it were and always had been the Auckland Regional Council. The entitlement of Watercare Services Limited to apply those provisions and exercise those powers would, but for this order, expire on 30 June 2004.
