These regulations are administered in the Ministry for the Environment.
Pursuant to section 36(1) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Contents
1 Title

(1) These regulations are the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Amendment Regulations 2004.
(2) In these regulations, the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 20021 are called
“the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 ( “the principal regulations”
).
The amendments
•add the following 5 product classes to Schedule 1 of the principal regulations:
•distribution transformers:
•dry-type distribution transformers:
•refrigerated display cabinets:
•single-phase non-ducted air conditioners and heat pumps:
•single-phase ducted air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps:
•provide that regulations 4 and 5 of the principal regulations do not apply to the 5 new product classes if they were manufactured in, or imported into, New Zealand before 1 October 2004.
