Note
These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.
Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

(1) These regulations are the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Amendment Regulations 2004.
(2) In these regulations, the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 20011 are called
“the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 October 2004.
3 Schedule 1 amended

(1) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, in the table that relates to the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/221), in their appropriate numerical order, the items set out in Schedule 1.
(2) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting, from the table that relates to the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/222), the items relating to regulation 3D(2)(a) and 3D(3)(a).
(3) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, in the table that relates to the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/222), in their appropriate numerical order, the items set out in Schedule 2.
(4) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting, from the table that relates to the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 (SR 1986/223), the items relating to regulation 3C(2)(a) and 3C(3)(a).
(5) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting, from the table that relates to the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991 (SR 1991/57), the item relating to regulation 5AA(1), and substituting the item set out in Schedule 3.
(6) Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by omitting, from the table that relates to the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001 (SR 2001/188), the items relating to regulations 5(5), 6(4), 7(4), 9(2), 9(4) and 9(5), 10(4), 14(1), 14(3), 15(1), 15(3), and 16(3), and substituting the items set out in Schedule 4.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2004, amend the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 2001 ( “the principal regulations”
).
The amendments—
•insert references to offences against regulation 25C(2)(a) and (3)(a) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 of using, setting, or possessing:
•omit from the principal regulations offences against regulation 3D(2)(a) and (3)(a) of the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986:
•insert references to offences against regulation 5(5)(a) and (b) of the Fisheries (Auckland and Kermadec Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986:
•omit from the principal regulations offences against regulation 3C(2)(a) and (3)(a) of the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986:
•omit from the principal regulations offences against regulation 5AA(1) of the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991, and substitute new offences against regulation 5AA(1)(a) of those regulations:
