Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2004

Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Taking of kina prohibited in Wellington area

  • Regulation 13 of the principal regulations is amended by revoking paragraph (c), and substituting the following paragraph:

    • “(c) those waters enclosed by a straight line drawn from Red Rocks (at 41°21.6'S and 174°43.20'E) to Baring Head (at 41°24.60'S and 174°52.20'E) including Wellington Harbour.”

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986.

The amendment corrects the co-ordinates of 1 of the Wellington areas where the taking of kina by commercial fishers is prohibited.
