Heavy Motor Vehicle Amendment Regulations 2004
Note
These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Transport.
Pursuant to sections 167 and 218 of the Land Transport Act 1998, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
1 Title

(1) These regulations are the Heavy Motor Vehicle Amendment Regulations 2004.
(2) In these regulations, the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 19741 are called
“the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 5 April 2004.
3 Speed
Regulation 9(10) of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after the words
“section 52 of the Act”
, the words“before the date of the commencement of section 4 of the Transport Amendment Act 1997 (5 April 2004)”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 5 April 2004, amend the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974. The amendment accommodates the making of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001), which also comes into force on 5 April 2004.
