Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Amendment Regulations 2007: revoked, on 1 April 2008, by regulation 6(b) of the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Amendment Regulations 2008 (SR 2008/52).

Preamble
At Wellington this 5th day of March 2007
Pursuant to section 155 of the Social Security Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Contents
1 Title
These regulations are the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Amendment Regulations 2007.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Regulations 2005.
4 Clothing allowance
Regulation 7(2) is amended by omitting
“$225.55”
and substituting“$231.48”
.
5 New regulation 12 substituted
Regulation 12 is revoked and the following regulation substituted:
“12 Personal allowance
The personal allowance defined in section 136 of the Social Security Act 1964 is $32.69 per week”
6 Consequential revocation
Regulations 3 and 4 of the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Amendment Regulations 2006 (SR 2006/47) are consequentially revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the Social Security (Long-term Residential Care) Regulations 2005. The amendments increase certain monetary amounts applicable to persons who are residents assessed as requiring care and to whom Part 4 of the Social Security Act 1964 applies.
Regulation 4 increases from $225.55 to $231.48 the yearly clothing allowance payable to certain residents assessed as requiring care specified in section 154 of the Social Security Act 1964.
Regulation 5 increases from $31.85 per week to $32.69 per week the personal allowance defined in section 136 of the Social Security Act 1964. The personal allowance is an amount of benefit that a person assessed as requiring care is not required to contribute to the cost of his or her contracted care services.
