Preamble
At Wellington this 2nd day of July 2007
Pursuant to sections 105 and 105B of the Medicines Act 1981, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
1 Title
These regulations are the Medicines (Designated Prescriber: Optometrists) Amendment Regulations 2007.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 2 August 2007.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Medicines (Designated Prescriber: Optometrists) Regulations 2005.
4 New Schedule substituted
The Schedule is revoked and the Schedule set out in the Schedule of these regulations substituted.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which amend the Medicines (Designated Prescriber: Optometrists) Regulations 2005 (the principal regulations), come into force on 2 August 2007.
These regulations substitute a new schedule of optometric medicines into the principal regulations. The new schedule is the same as the current schedule except for the addition of prescription medicines, cyclopentolate and tropicamide.
