Preamble
At Wellington this 21st day of May 2007
Pursuant to section 62 of the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Contents
1 Title
These regulations are the Dairy Industry (Herd Testing and New Zealand Dairy Core Database) Amendment Regulations 2007.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Dairy Industry (Herd Testing and New Zealand Dairy Core Database) Regulations 2001.
4 Interpretation
Regulation 3(1) is amended by revoking the definition of dairy herd testing standard and substituting the following definition:
“dairy herd testing standard means New Zealand Standard NZS 8100 Dairy Herd Testing, as may be amended from time to time”.
5 Schedule 1 amended
Clause 7 of Schedule 1 is amended by omitting
“2 years”
and substituting“3 years”

6 Schedule 2 amended

(1) Schedule 2 is amended by inserting the following items after the item relating to Embryo recipient (in the list of event data):
“Drying off date”
and“Drying off reason”
.(2) Schedule 2 is amended by inserting the following items after the item relating to Somatic cell count (in the list of production data):
“Average number of milkings”
,“Pre-test milking date stamp”
,“Test 1 date stamp”
, and“Test 2 date stamp”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Dairy Industry (Herd Testing and New Zealand Dairy Core Database) Regulations 2001.
The amendment—
•provides a new definition of dairy herd testing standard (regulation 4):
•extends the expiry time of a certification of herd testers from 2 years to 3 years under clause 7 of Schedule 1 (regulation 5):
•requires every certified herd tester to provide further information to Livestock Improvement Corporation Limited under Schedule 2 (regulation 6).
