  • Preamble

    At Wellington this 28th day of May 2007

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

  • These regulations are the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2007.

2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Principal regulations amended
4 Areas closed for taking of blue cod for 2-year period

  • (1) The heading to regulation 3A is amended by omitting “2-year” and substituting “4-year”.

    (2) Regulation 3A(3)(b) is amended by omitting “2007” and substituting “2009”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991. The amendment extends for a further 2 years the prohibition on taking blue cod, or possessing blue cod taken, from certain areas of the internal waters of Fiordland.

These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
