Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 17 January 2008, amend the Copyright (General Matters) Regulations 1995 by adding the Correspondence School Te Kura a-Tuhi to the list of bodies prescribed for the purposes of section 69 of the Copyright Act 1994. Prescribed bodies may, without infringing copyright, make copies or adaptations of published literary or dramatic works for the purpose of providing people who have a print disability with copies that are modified for their special needs.
