Pursuant to sections 139 and 139A of the Local Government Act 2002, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Local Government (at the request of the Auckland Council), makes the following order.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Local Government (Auckland Regional Parks) Amendment Order 2014.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

3 Principal order

This order amends the Local Government (Auckland Regional Parks) Order 2008 (the principal order).

4 Schedule amended to include 1 further regional park

In the Schedule, after the item relating to Te Arai, insert the item set out in the Schedule of this order.

5 Schedule amended to add land to existing regional parks

(1) In the Schedule, after the item relating to Atiu Creek Farm, insert:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends the Local Government (Auckland Regional Parks) Order 2008 (the principal order). The principal order protects, in perpetuity, the regional parks described in the Schedule of that order from disposition (whether by sale or otherwise).

This order amends the principal order in the following 3 ways:

it adds an item in relation to Te Muri Regional Park (so that it is also now protected in perpetuity); and
it adds an item each in relation to Atiu Creek Farm and Duder Regional Park (which relate to parcels of land added to those regional parks since the principal order was made); and
it adds 2 items in relation to the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park (which are references to parcels of land in that regional park that were omitted in error when the principal order was made).
