Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2008: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(c) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2008.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986.
4 Set netting prohibited from Tirua Point to Pariokariwa Point
Regulation 5C(1) is amended by revoking paragraphs (f) and (g) and substituting the following paragraphs:
“(f) then proceeds in a northerly direction along a line 7 nautical miles from the mean high-water mark to a point (at 38°21.80′S and 174°29.43′E); and
“(g) then proceeds in a straight line along the Central Fishery Management Area boundary in an easterly direction to Tirua Point (at 38°23.22′S and 174°38.04′E).”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, make minor technical amendments to the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986. The amendments are intended to give better effect to the amendments that were recently made to the principal regulations by the Fisheries (Central Area Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2008, which introduced new measures for the protection of Hector's and Maui's dolphins.
