Pursuant to section 2(1)(a) of the Land Transport Amendment Act 2009, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
This order is the Land Transport Amendment Act 2009 Commencement Order 2009.
2 Commencement of sections 5 to 23, 25, and 26 of Land Transport Amendment Act 2009
Sections 5 to 23, 25, and 26 of the Land Transport Amendment Act 2009 come into force on 1 November 2009.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force, on 1 November 2009, sections 5 to 23, 25, and 26 of the Land Transport Amendment Act 2009 . These sections relate to offences under the Land Transport Act 1998, including the new offence of impaired driving when the driver’s blood shows evidence of the use of controlled drugs or prescription medicine.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
