Pursuant to section 2 of the Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
This order is the Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009 Commencement Order 2009.
2 Commencement of Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009
The Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009 comes into force on 1 January 2010.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force, on 1 January 2010, the Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009.
The Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009 amends the Customs and Excise Act 1996 to implement a free trade agreement, namely the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Area agreement (the AANZFTA). The amendments create a system for certification bodies that are authorised to issue the necessary certificates of origin for goods exported to AANZFTA party countries.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
