Pursuant to section 64A(3A) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Customs and Excise (Specified AANZFTA Parties—Thailand) Amendment Order 2010.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 12 March 2010.
3 Principal order amended
This order amends the Customs and Excise (Specified AANZFTA Parties) Order 2009.
4 Specified AANZFTA parties
Clause 3 is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (e):
“(ea) Thailand:”.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 12 March 2010, amends the Customs and Excise (Specified AANZFTA Parties) Order 2009 to declare Thailand to be a specified party to the agreement establishing the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Area (the AANZFTA) for the purposes of the Customs and Excise Act 1996. Thailand is also a specified party for the purposes of the Tariff Act 1988, under the Tariff (Specified AANZFTA Parties—Thailand) Amendment Order 2010.
The effect of this order is to authorise certification bodies to issue the necessary certificates of origin (taking effect on and after 12 March 2010) for goods exported to Thailand.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
Date of notification in Gazette: 25 February 2010.
