Pursuant to section 297(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Amendment Regulations 2010.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 October 2010.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 2001.
4 Schedule 1 amended
-
(1) The item relating to the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 in Schedule 1 is amended by inserting the items set out in Schedule 1 of these regulations in their appropriate numerical order.
(2) The item relating to the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986 in Schedule 1 is amended by inserting the items set out in Schedule 2 of these regulations in their appropriate numerical order.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2010, amend Schedule 1 of the Fisheries (Infringement Offences) Regulations 2001.
The amendments prescribe new infringement offences for the purposes of—
new regulations 26A and 26B of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986, which relate to the registration of amateur-fishing charter vessel operators and the reporting requirements of those operators:
new regulations 3AB, 6DB, 6DC, 6DD, and 6DE of the Fisheries (South-East Area Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1986, which relate to the maximum daily limit for finfish, paua, kina, and shellfish, and to a prohibition of taking or possessing paua in a certain area.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Fisheries.
