Order

1 Title

This order is the Health and Disability (Division of Southern DHB into Constituencies) Order 2010.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on the close of 30 April 2010.

3 Interpretation

In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,—

Act means the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000

board means the board of Southern DHB

election purposes means for the purposes of an election to elect the elective members of the board of Southern DHB

local government area has the meaning given to it by section 5(1) of the Local Electoral Act 2001.

4 Division of Southern DHB into constituencies for election purposes

The geographical area of Southern DHB that is specified in Schedule 1 of the Act (as amended by the Health and Disability (Establishment of Southern DHB) Order 2010) is for election purposes divided into—

(a)

the Otago constituency; and

(b)

the Southland constituency.

5 Number of members to be elected to board of Southern DHB from each constituency

(1)

The number of members that are to be elected to the board by the Otago constituency is 4.

(2)

The number of members that are to be elected to the board by the Southland constituency is 3.

6 Boundaries of Otago constituency

The Otago constituency includes within its boundaries the local government areas of Central Otago District, Clutha District, Dunedin City, Queenstown-Lakes District (Wanaka Ward only), and Waitaki District.

7 Boundaries of Southland constituency

The Southland constituency includes within its boundaries the local government areas of Gore District, Invercargill City, Queenstown-Lakes District (Arrowtown and Queenstown Wakatipu Wards only), and Southland District.

This order, which comes into force on the close of 30 April 2010, divides the newly established Southern DHB into 2 constituencies for the purposes of an election to elect members to its board.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Health and Disability (Division of Southern DHB into Constituencies) Order 2010 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status
