Pursuant to section 218 of the Land Transport Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Heavy Motor Vehicle Amendment Regulations 2010.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 May 2010.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974.
4 Schedule 4A amended
Schedule 4A is amended by—
(a) omitting from the third item
“continuous permit”
and substituting“continuous or high-productivity motor vehicle permit”
; and
(b) omitting from the fourth item
“continuous permit”
and substituting“continuous or high-productivity motor vehicle permit”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 May 2010, amend the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974. The amendments change “continuous permit”
to “continuous or high-productivity motor vehicle permit”
in the third and fourth items of Schedule 4A to accommodate amendments made to Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Dimensions and Mass 2002.
