Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 7 October 2011, sections 4, 6, 10, and 12 of the Copyright Amendment Act 2011. The provisions being brought into force—

• insert new Part 6A of the Copyright Act 1994 (the Act), relating to the appointment, functions, and powers of enforcement officers:

• insert new sections 144 to 144I of the Act, relating to the enforcement powers of Customs officers:

• make associated changes to provisions of the Act that deal with matters of interpretation and protection from liability of persons acting under the authority of the Act.
