These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Transport.
Pursuant to sections 167 and 168 of the Land Transport Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Amendment Regulations 2011.
2 Commencement
(1)
Regulations 3, 5(1) to (3), and 6 come into force on 27 February 2012.
(2)
The rest of these regulations come into force on 1 October 2012.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Regulations 1999.
4 New regulation 12A inserted
The following regulation is inserted after regulation 12:
12A Fees to take part in accelerated licensing process
An application to take part as a driver or as an employer in the accelerated licensing process under Part 4A of the Driver Licensing rule must be accompanied by the appropriate fee specified in Part 8A of the Schedule.
5 Schedule amended

6 Transitional provision relating to certain driver testing fees
(1)
This regulation applies to an applicant who—
(a)
makes an application to undertake a test to which a fee specified in item 2, 3, or 5 of Part 4 of the Schedule (as substituted by regulation 5(1) to (3) of these regulations) applies before 27 February 2012; but
(b)
does not sit the test to which the application relates until on or after 27 February 2012.
(2)
The applicant must pay the relevant fee that applies on the date on which the applicant sits, or intends to sit, the test.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations amend the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Regulations 1999 to—
adjust the fees in Part 4 of the Schedule (which relates to driver testing fees) for undertaking tests required for a class of restricted licence, a full licence of class 1, and a full licence of class 6; and
insert new regulation 12A and new Part 8A into the Schedule, which prescribe the obligation to pay fees for taking part as a driver or as an employer in the accelerated licensing process under Part 4A of the Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Rule 1999 and specify the amounts of those fees.
Regulations 3, 5(1) to (3), and 6 come into force on 27 February 2012. Regulation 5(1) to (3) specify new fees for undertaking the tests required for a class of restricted licence, a full licence of Class 1, and a full licence of Class 6. Regulation 6 is a transitional provision relating to the new fees substituted by regulation 5(1) to (3).
The rest of these regulations come into force on 1 October 2012.

1 General
This is a consolidation of the Land Transport (Driver Licensing and Driver Testing Fees) Amendment Regulations 2011 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
2 Legal status
A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
