Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection (Olympic and Commonwealth Games Emblem and Words) Order 2001: revoked, on 12 May 2011, by clause 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Revocations) Order 2011 (SR 2011/99).

Pursuant to section 26A of the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act 1981, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Order
1 Title
This order is the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection (Olympic and Commonwealth Games Emblem and Words) Order 2001.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Part 1 of Schedule 2A amended
Part 1 of Schedule 2A of the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act 1981 is amended by revoking the emblem
“The Stylised New Zealand Commonwealth Games Emblem”
, and substituting the emblem“The New Zealand Commonwealth Games Emblem”
set out in Schedule 1 of this order.
4 New Part 3 of Schedule 2A substituted

(1) Schedule 2A of the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act 1981 is amended by revoking Part 3, and substituting the Part 3 set out in Schedule 2 of this order.
(2) Clauses 1 to 4 of Part 3 of Schedule 2A of the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act 1981, as substituted by this order, expire on 30 June 2005.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
The order revokes the emblem “The Stylised New Zealand Commonwealth Games Emblem”
in Part 1 of Schedule 2A of the Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act 1981 (the Act), and substitutes the emblem “The New Zealand Commonwealth Games Emblem”
.
The order also revokes the now-expired clauses of Part 3 of Schedule 2A of the Act that protect words and expressions relating to the Sydney Olympic Games, and substitutes a new Part 3. The new Part 3 lists the words and expressions relating to the Olympic and Commonwealth Games to be held at Salt Lake City, Manchester, and Athens that are protected under the Act.
The substituted clauses of Part 3 of Schedule 2A of the Act expire on 30 June 2005.
