Revocation of Customs Import Prohibition (Semi-automatic Firearms and Shotguns) Orders: revoked, on 12 May 2011, by clause 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Revocations) Order 2011 (SR 2011/99).

This order is administered by the Customs Department.
PURSUANT to section 48 of the Customs Act 1966, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, by this order, which shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, revokes the orders specified in the Schedule to this order.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, revokes the orders prohibiting the importation of semi-automatic firearms, pump-action shotguns, and exposed-hammer double barrelled shotguns and parts of those firearms. The orders are no longer necessary as appropriate controls on the importation of firearms and parts of firearms are now contained in the Arms Act 1983 (as amended by the Arms Amendment Act 1992).
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
Date of notification in Gazette: 10 February 1994.
