Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, prescribe a form and compliance monitoring information for the purposes of the Accident Insurance Act 1998.

The regulations—

prescribe the form of an insurance certificate under the Act:
specify the accident insurance contract information that an insurer must set out in a return that has to be given under section 194(1)(a) of the Act to the Regulator.

The form and content of returns for the purposes of section 194(1)(b) to (h) of the Act will be dealt with separately.
