PURSUANT to the Constitution Act, the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 (Imperial), and the Sea Carriage of Goods Act 1940, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as follows:—

This Proclamation may be cited as the Sea Carriage of Goods Act Commencement Order 1943.

A Bill entitled
“An Act to amend the Law relating to the Carriage of Goods by Sea”
and to be cited as the Sea Carriage of Goods Act 1940, which was reserved by the Governor-General for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure thereon, has been laid before His Majesty in Council, and His Majesty in Council has been pleased to confirm and declare His Majesty's assent to the same.

The Sea Carriage of Goods Act 1940, shall come into force on the 1st day of March, 1943.
