Penal Institutions (Police Jails) Notice 1976

Penal Institutions (Police Jails) Notice 1976: revoked, on 12 May 2011, by clause 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Revocations) Order 2011 (SR 2011/99).

Pursuant to the Penal Institutions Act 1954, the Minister of Justice hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
1 Title and commencement
-
(1) This notice may be cited as the Penal Institutions (Police Jails) Notice 1976.
(2) This notice shall take effect from the 1st day of June 1976.
2 Certain police stations ceasing to be police jails
-
(1) Clause 4 of the Penal Institutions Notice (No 3) 1959 (SR 1959/209), to the extent that it declares the police stations at Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Nelson, Opotiki, and Wairoa to be police jails, is hereby revoked.
(2) Clause 4 of the Penal Institutions Notice (No 3) 1959 (as amended by clause 2 of the Penal Institutions Notice (No 4) 1965 (SR 1965/166), clause 2 of the Penal Institutions Notice (No 2) 1969 (SR 1969/224), and by clause 2 of the Penal Institutions Notice (No 3) 1972 (SR 1972/268)) is hereby amended by omitting the words
“the following places, namely, the Chatham Islands, Gisborne, Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Nelson, Opotiki, and Wairoa”
, and substituting the words“the Chatham Islands and Gisborne”
.
