1 Title

These regulations are the Customs and Excise Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 October 2012.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Customs and Excise Regulations 1996 (the principal regulations).

Revoke regulations 78 and 79.

5 Schedule 2 amended

In Schedule 2, revoke forms 11 and 12.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2012, amend the Customs and Excise Regulations 1996 by revoking the form prescribed for search warrants and the form prescribed for reports on the execution of emergency warrants. The revocations arise out of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012, which will govern applications for search warrants under the Customs and Excise Act 1996 and also dispenses with the need for search warrants and related forms to be in a prescribed form.
