These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Health.

Pursuant to section 117 of the Health Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, and after forming the opinion required by that section, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Health (Immunisation) Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1995 (the principal regulations).

4 Regulation 2 amended (Interpretation)

(1)

In regulation 2(1), definition of National Immunisation Schedule, replace “of the Ministry of Health and for the time being approved by the Minister” with “administered by Pharmac”.

In regulation 2(1), insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Pharmac means the Pharmaceutical Management Agency established by section 46 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend regulation 2(1) of the Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1995 (which contains definitions) to—

replace the references to the Ministry of Health and the Minister in the definition of National Immunisation Schedule with a reference to Pharmac because of the transfer of responsibility for the schedule from the Ministry to Pharmac; and
insert a definition of Pharmac.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Health (Immunisation) Amendment Regulations 2012 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status

A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
