Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 Amendment Determination 2012: revoked, on 13 October 2013 (after expiring on 1 July 2013) , pursuant to clause 14 of the Local Government Elected Members (2013/14) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2013 (SR 2013/401).

Pursuant to clauses 6 and 7A of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002, the Remuneration Authority makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).

Determination
1 Title
This determination is the Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 Amendment Determination 2012.
2 Commencement
-
(1) Clause 10(2)(f) is deemed to have come into force on 31 July 2012.
(2) Clause 10(2)(k) and (l) are deemed to have come into force on 29 August 2012.
(3) Clause 10(2)(m) to (o) are deemed to have come into force on 18 September 2012.
(4) The rest of this determination is deemed to have come into force on the commencement of the principal determination.
3 Principal determination
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 (the principal determination).
4 Clause 4 amended (Interpretation)

(1) In clause 4, revoke the definitions of 2010 Determination and 2010 (No 2) Determination.
(2) In clause 4, replace the definition of territorial authority with:
“territorial authority means each territorial authority named in Part 2 of Schedule 2 of the Local Government Act 2002, except the Auckland Council.”
5 Clause 7 amended (Remuneration and allowances payable to members of regional councils)

“8A Expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with rules approved by Remuneration Authority

“(1) A local authority may reimburse members for expenses in accordance with rules approved by the Remuneration Authority.
“(2) A territorial authority may reimburse the members of its community boards for expenses in accordance with rules approved by the Remuneration Authority.
“(3) The local authority must, during the hours that its offices are open to the public, allow members of the public to inspect the rules described in subclauses (1) and (2).”

“(1) A local authority may pay allowances other than those set out in clauses 10 and 11 to members and members of its community board in accordance with rules approved by the Remuneration Authority.
“(2) The local authority must, during the hours that its offices are open to the public, allow members of the public to inspect the rules described in subclause (1).”

Explanatory memorandum
This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 (the principal determination) issued in September 2012.
This determination, which is deemed to have come into force on 1 July 2012 (subject to certain exceptions) and expires on the close of 30 June 2013 when the principal determination expires, covers the following local authorities, which were not included in the principal determination:
Matamata–Piako District Council (including the Matamata, Morrinsville, and Te Aroha Community Boards):
Otorohanga District Council (including the Kawhia and Otorohanga Community Boards):
South Wairarapa District Council (including the Featherston, Greytown, and Martinborough Community Boards):
Wairoa District Council:
Waitaki District Council (including the Ahuriri and Waihemo Community Boards).
This determination also makes a number of other amendments to the principal determination in relation to certain city and district councils. The reasons for these amendments are as follows:
