Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2012: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(f) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 May 2012.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991 (the principal regulations).

4 Regulation 3A amended (Areas closed for taking of blue cod)

Replace regulation 3A(2)(b)(i) with:
- “(i) to the east of a line drawn from 45°17.56′S and 166°52.68′E to Jamieson Head on Bauza Island (at 45°17.15′S and 166°53.01′E); and”.

5 Regulation 4 amended (Maximum daily number of fish)

(1) In regulation 4(1), replace “and (3)” with “, (3), and (6)”.

(2) In regulation 4(1), item relating to blue cod, insert “20” in the second column.

(3) In regulation 4(1), item relating to bluenose, insert “5” in the second column.

6 Schedule amended (Description of internal waters of Fiordland)

In the Schedule, replace items 7 and 8 with:
- “7 Those waters of Doubtful Sound lying—
  
  “(a) to the east of a line drawn from 45°17.56′S and 166°52.68′E to 45°17.15′S and 166°53.01′E; and
  
  “(b) to the east of a line drawn from 45°16.81′S and 166°54.61′E to 45°16.59′S and 166°55.21′E.
- “8 Those waters of Thompson and Bradshaw Sounds lying to the east and to the south of a line drawn from 45°10.60′S and 166°57.90′E to 45°11.36′S and 166°58.31′E.”

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 May 2012, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991.

The amendments—

correct the description of the internal waters of Fiordland; and
provide that—
- 20 is the maximum daily number of blue cod; and
- 5 is the maximum daily number of bluenose—
in relation to the Southland and Sub-Antarctic Fishery Management Areas.
