1 Title

These regulations are the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2012.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 May 2012.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986 (the principal regulations).

4 Schedule amended

In the Schedule, replace items 7 and 8 with the items 7 and 8 set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

(a) to the east of a line drawn from 45º17.56′S and 166º52.68′E to 45º17.15′S and 166º53.01′E; and

(b) to the east of a line drawn from 45º16.81′S and 166º54.61′E to 45º16.59′S and 166º55.21′E.

Those waters of Thompson and Bradshaw Sounds lying to the east and to the south of a line drawn from 45º10.60′S and 166º57.90′E to 45º11.36′S and 166º58.31′E.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 May 2012, replace items 7 and 8 of the description of the internal waters of Fiordland set out in the Schedule of the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986 to correct technical errors in the current descriptions.
