Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Amendment Regulations 2013: revoked, on 1 April 2014, by regulation 6 of the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2014 (LI 2014/37).

Pursuant to section 132AC of the Social Security Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Amendment Regulations 2013.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2013.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004 (the principal regulations).

4 Schedule 1 amended

In each provision of Schedule 1 of the principal regulations listed in the first column of Part 1 of the Schedule of these regulations, replace the amount set out opposite to it in the second column with the amount set out opposite to it in the third column.

5 Schedule 2 amended

In each provision of Schedule 2 of the principal regulations listed in the first column of Part 2 of the Schedule of these regulations, replace the amount set out opposite to it in the second column with the amount set out opposite to it in the third column.

6 Consequential revocation

The Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Amendment Regulations 2012 (SR 2012/19) are revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2013, amend the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004 by increasing the rates of childcare and OSCAR (out-of-school care and recreation) subsidies available to certain caregivers with dependent children.

The increases reflect a 0.61% increase in the New Zealand Consumers Price Index from the December 2011 quarter to the December 2012 quarter (calculated for all quarters using the CPI All Groups excluding cigarettes and other tobacco products).

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
