1 Title

These regulations are the Property (Relationships) Model Form of Agreement Amendment Regulations 2013.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 19 August 2013.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Property (Relationships) Model Form of Agreement Regulations 2001 (the principal regulations).

4 Schedule amended

In the Schedule, replace “[are husband and wife]” with “[are a married couple]”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 19 August 2013, update the prescribed model form of agreement under section 21E of the Property (Relationships) Act 1976. The updating is necessary to ensure that the language used in the form reflects the fact that, when the Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 comes into force, same-sex marriages will be possible.
