Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 Amendment Determination (No 2) 2013: revoked, on 13 October 2013, pursuant to clause 14 of the Local Government Elected Members (2013/14) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2013 (SR 2013/401).

Pursuant to clauses 6 and 7A of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002, the Remuneration Authority makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).

1 Title

This determination is the Local Government Elected Members (2012/13) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 Amendment Determination (No 2) 2013.

2 Commencement

(1) Clause 4(a) and (e) is deemed to have come into force on 22 August 2013.

(2) Clause 4(b) to (d) is deemed to have come into force on 14 March 2013.

(3) Clause 4(f) and (g) is deemed to have come into force on 14 August 2013.

3 Principal determination

This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2012/2013) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 (the principal determination).

Explanatory memorandum

This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2012/2013) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2012 (the principal determination) issued in September 2012. The amendments are deemed to have come into force on a range of dates from 14 March 2013 to 22 August 2013, as specified in clause 2.

The reasons for the amendments are as follows:

Clause	Council	Reason for amendment
4(a) and (e)	Taupo District Council	The Mayor relinquished his car
4(b) to (d)	Taupo District Council	The resignation of a councillor with subsequent redistribution of his salary among elected members
4(f) and (g)	Whangarei District Council	The Mayor is unable to carry out the full range of his duties and, as a consequence, the Deputy Mayor will undertake additional responsibilities

These amendments arise from recommendations by the district councils to the Remuneration Authority and result from unanticipated events. The issuing of a retrospective determination is required to give effect to the recommendations.
