Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Community Housing Provider) Amendment Regulations 2015

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to section 190 of the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters Act 1992, His Excellency the Governor-General makes the following regulations,—
(a) acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b) acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Housing, and the Minister for Social Development given in accordance with section 191(1) of that Act.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Community Housing Provider) Amendment Regulations 2015.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 14 April 2015.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Community Housing Provider) Regulations 2014 (the principal regulations).
4 Regulation 6 amended (Information required in application)
Replace regulation 6(1)(d) with:
“(d) evidence that the organisation’s objects include social rental housing or affordable rental housing; and”.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 14 April 2015, amend the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Community Housing Provider) Regulations 2014 (the principal regulations).
Regulation 6(1)(d) of the principal regulations requires an application for registration of a community housing provider to include evidence from the organisation’s empowering document that the organisation’s objects include social rental housing or affordable rental housing. The effect of the amendment is to remove the requirement that such evidence come from the organisation’s empowering document.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
