This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Motupōhue Mātaitai Reserve and Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Notice 2014.

This notice comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette (the commencement date).

(1) A mātaitai reserve (to be known as the Motupōhue Mātaitai Reserve) has been declared under regulation 20 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 over the area enclosed by a line—

• (a) commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark at Cable Bay at 46°35.64′S and 168°18.47′E; then

• (b) proceeding in a straight line in a south-westerly direction to a point offshore at 46°36.20′S and 168°18.15′E; then

• (c) proceeding in a generally south-easterly then north-easterly direction at a distance of 0.5 nautical miles offshore from the mean high-water mark from all points of the Bluff Hill shoreline to a point offshore approximately south-east of Stirling Point, at 46°37.15′S and 168°22.00′E; then

• (d) proceeding in a straight line in a north-westerly direction to a point on the mean high-water mark at Stirling Point at 46°36.75′S and 168°21.58′E; then

• (e) proceeding along the mean high-water mark in a generally south-westerly then north-westerly direction to the point of commencement specified in paragraph (a).

(2) The declaration of the reserve takes effect on the commencement date.

(1) The Minister for Primary Industries has appointed the following Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the Motupōhue Mātaitai Reserve, each for a term of 5 years:

• (c) Hana Morgan.

(2) The appointment of the Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki takes effect on the commencement date.
