This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2014/15) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2014 (the principal determination) issued in July 2014. The amendments come into force on a range of dates as specified in clause 2.
The reasons for the amendments are as follows:
| Clause | Council | Reason for amendment | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4(a) | Bay of Plenty Regional Council | Change in regional council committee structure | ||
| 4(b) | Waikato Regional Council | To correct an error in the principal determination | ||
| 5(a) | Carterton District Council | Authorises payment of mayoral salary to acting Mayor after resignation of Mayor after being elected to Parliament | ||
| 5(b) | Hutt City Council | Change in council structure | ||
| 5(c) | Matamata–Piako District Council | To correct an error in the principal determination | ||
| 5(d) and (e) | Palmerston North City Council | Authorises payment of mayoral salary to acting Mayor after resignation of Mayor after being elected to Parliament, plus consequential change to use of mayoral car | ||
| 5(f), (g), and (h) | Rangitikei District Council | To correct an error in the principal determination | ||
| 5(i) and (j) | Wanganui District Council | Changes position descriptions and remuneration for district plan hearings as a result of a governance restructure |
These amendments arise from recommendations by the regional and district councils to the Remuneration Authority and result, in most cases, from unanticipated events. The issuing of a determination that is retrospective is required to give effect to the recommendations.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
Date of notification in Gazette: 8 January 2015.
