These regulations, which come into force on 9 January 2015, amend the Immigration (Visa, Entry Permission, and Related Matters) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2014 (the principal regulations). The principal regulations waive the requirement to hold a transit visa or a temporary visa for people holding specified Australian temporary visas. This waiver applies from 26 January 2015 to 6 April 2015 (the period during which Australia and New Zealand will host the Cricket World Cup 2015).These regulations amend the principal regulations to extend the waiver to people who travel to Australia on single-entry Australian temporary visas and subsequently travel to New Zealand. They also make some minor amendments to clarify that certain conditions of the waiver do not apply to transit passengers.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
Date of notification in Gazette: 11 December 2014.
These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
