Explanatory note

This note is not part of the rules, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These rules, which come into force on 1 November 2014, amend the Instant Kiwi (Instant Game) Rules 1992 to—

• remove a player’s ability to make selections by post or other delivery service; and

• allow additional prizes to be distributed to any class of player determined by the New Zealand Lotteries Commission; and

• delete the reference to Wellington as the location of the Commission’s head office; and

• improve consistency with rules for other similar games.

These rules are a legislative instrument and a disallowable instrument for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2012 and must be presented to the House of Representatives under section 41 of the Act.
