Pursuant to section 2(1) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Minister of Police gives the following notice.

1 Title
This notice is the Land Transport (Blood Specimen Collecting Instrument and Procedure) Amendment Notice 2018.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on 7 November 2018.
3 Principal notice
This notice amends the Land Transport (Blood Specimen Collecting Instrument and Procedure) Notice 2014 (the principal notice).
4 Clause 6 amended (Division of blood specimen into 2 parts)
In clause 6(1), replace “medical practitioner”
with “health practitioner”
.
5 Clause 7 amended (Blood specimen parts to be put in separate containers)
In clause 7(1), replace “medical practitioner”
with “health practitioner”
.
6 Clause 8 amended (Blood specimen taken under section 72 to be handed to enforcement officer)
In clause 8, replace “medical practitioner”
with “health practitioner”
.
7 Clause 9 amended (Drawing of blood specimen into 2 vacutainers)
In clause 9(1), replace “medical practitioner”

8 Clause 10 amended (Requirements for vacutainers)

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on 7 November 2018, amends the Land Transport (Blood Specimen Collecting Instrument and Procedure) Notice 2014 (the principal notice).
The principal notice prescribes the blood specimen collecting procedure to be followed by medical practitioners and medical officers for the purposes of sections 72 to 74 of the Land Transport Act 1998. The references in those sections to medical practitioners will be replaced with references to health practitioners on 7 November 2018 when the Land Transport Amendment Act 2016 comes into force.
The amendments to the principal notice reflect this change.
