War Pensions Amendment Regulations 2014: revoked, on 7 December 2014, pursuant to regulation 71(1)(b) of the Veterans' Support Regulations 2014 (LI 2014/369).

These regulations are administered by the New Zealand Defence Force.

Pursuant to section 96 of the War Pensions Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the War Pensions Amendment Regulations 2014.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 1 April 2014.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the War Pensions Regulations 1956 (the principal regulations).

4 Regulation 44 amended (Travelling allowances)

In regulation 44, replace “$24.66” with“ $25.00”.

5 Schedule 6 amended

(1) In Schedule 6, item 1, replace “893.42”, “1,060.15”, and “223.33” with “905.75”, “1,074.78”, and “226.41” respectively.

(2) In Schedule 6, item 2, replace “446.68”, “530.05”, and “223.33” with “452.84”, “537.36”, and “226.41” respectively.

6 Schedule 8 amended

(1) In Schedule 8, item 1, replace “18,327.81” with “18,580.73”.

(2) In Schedule 8, item 2, replace “8,248.05” with “8,361.87”.

7 Schedule 10 amended

In Schedule 10, replace “30.72” with “31.14” in each place.

8 Schedule 11 amended

In Schedule 11, replace “$2,148.62” with “$2,178.27”.

9 Revocation

The War Pensions Amendment Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/31) are revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2014, amend the War Pensions Regulations 1956 by increasing the following by 1.38% (reflecting the increase in the New Zealand Consumers Price Index (All Groups) excluding cigarettes and other tobacco products):

the rate of weekly travelling allowances:
the maximum rates of war bursaries payable to secondary school students and students of colleges of education, polytechnics, specialist colleges, universities, and wananga:
the maximum amounts of motor vehicle loans:
the weekly allowance payable to holders of certain specified decorations who are in receipt of war disablement pensions:
the annuity payable to holders of the Victoria Cross.
