Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Area/Rohe Moana of Hokonui Rūnanga) Notice 2015.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on 14 August 2015.
3 Revocation of this notice
This notice is revoked on 20 July 2020.
4 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana
This notice applies to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana defined by clause 2(c) of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 3) 1998 (Gazette 1998, p 3588), which is an area from Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) to Tokatā (the Nuggets).
5 New appointment
(1)
The Minister for Primary Industries has appointed Anthony Fowler as a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana.
(2)
The appointment—
(a)
took effect on 20 July 2015; and
(b)
expires at the close of 19 July 2020.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). It comes into force on 14 August 2015 and revokes itself on 20 July 2020.
This notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Hokonui Rūnanga. The area/rohe moana is located in an area of South Island fisheries waters between Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) and Tokatā (the Nuggets).
Notice is given of the appointment of a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the customary food gathering area/rohe moana. The Minister for Primary Industries appointed the Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki under regulation 9 of the regulations at the request of Hokonui Rūnanga.
The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for a customary food gathering area/rohe moana may authorise any individual to take fish, aquatic life, or seaweed for customary food gathering purposes from within the area/rohe moana.
